FURTHER INFORMATION
The ultimate aim of the project is to have sustainable groups set up by the LGBTQ+ community, for
the LGBTQ+ community to benefit everyone

How will we do this?
• Hold LGBTQ+ awareness days in towns in Carmarthenshire to promote equality and
understanding in the local community.
• To set up and maintain LGBTQ+ Hubs in Carmarthenshire. The purpose is to provide a safe
place where the LGBTQ+ community can attend a couple of times a month for support,
advice and guidance and to report hate crime.
• The long term aim for these hubs is that they will become sustainable: this might mean
becoming Constituted and raising their own funds. The project will provide training for
people who need it to help this happen.
• In each area, there will be a LGBTQ+ support day where local organisations can come
together to show their support for this community.
• Each Hub can send at least one member to a wider Carmarthenshire LGBTQ+ group that will
meet regularly with representatives from the Health Board, police, DWP, etc to create a
better Carmarthenshire for the LGBTQ+ community.
• Develop relationships with other services such as Dyfed Powys Police.
• Create questionnaires and surveys so people can inform us how the project has had an
impact on their lives. We will also create case studies and interview people involved in the
project.

We will create / engage with:
• 5 hubs
• 5 new groups
• 15 Volunteers
