Last week on Wednesday January 14th, CETMA Swansea’s 50+ Support Project hosted the second of its planned Wellbeing Trips to Penllergare Valley Woods. Attendees had the opportunity to get out in nature and admire the sites around the woods such as it’s beautiful Waterfall enjoy the tranquillity of the open air.
In all, attendees spent around 2.5 hours exploring the Woods. And on the way back to the Swansea office, attendees discussed how much they felt that they had benefitted from the time out in the open air discussing with each other the sights/experiences they were having in the woods as well as other shared interests forming bonds that will continue for the remainder of the project as well as likely creating friendships that will continue after the project has come to an end.
Speaking of his experience on the trip, one of the attendees Neil said:
“The trip to Penllergare Woods was so refreshing. Exploring this paradise for all the creatures who inhabit the space was an amazing experience. Me and the other attendees were well looked after the entire time. And Food/Transport was provided free of charge, so I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone over 50+ to attend one of these sessions”
As a reminder, the 50+ Project lasts until the end of February. It’s purpose is to provide free activities for 50+’s in the Swansea Area as an opportunity for them to improve their wellbeing & offer the chance to make friends with other’s in a similar age bracket or with similar interests.
