CETMA LAUNCH NEW PROJECT FOR CRAFT AND SPECIALITY FOOD BUSINESSES
Carmarthenshire Rural Net.Works: support for arts, crafts, gifts & alternative food sectors.
Local organisation CETMA has had a very busy week with the launch of its new LEADER funded project.
The social enterprise has been awarded LEADER funding to deliver an innovative new project, Carmarthenshire Rural Net.Works.
The project brings together professional craft makers and speciality food businesses in the region to promote, support and develop their businesses through collaboration and mentoring.
The project is hoping to support these sectors in improving their marketing and supply chains by working in collaboration, and finding cost efficient ways to manage this. Which in turn will lead to the creation of new job opportunities, as well as providing work placements to help students gain an insight into this industry.
The first few months will see the project team of Anna, Michelle and Izzy visiting and contacting local craft and alternative food businesses, setting up networking groups and looking at ways the project can support them.
Jonathan Williams, CETMA Managing Director said:
“CETMA recognises the contribution made to the Welsh economy by the craft and alternative food sectors, and the project aims to address some of issues faced by these small businesses through working collaboratively.”
Anna Sadler project co-ordinator of Net.Works said:
“I’m extremely excited about getting to know local crafters and business owners and finding new ways of working together to create new opportunities.”
CETMA would love to hear from any local business wanting to get involved in the project. You can contact Anna at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone on 01554 772 056.
